Our Fair City Detroit, Michigan police chief Benny Napolean agreed the department has sold 6,000 used guns to dealers, who put them back on the street, even though the city of Detroit has filed a $400 million lawsuit accusing gun manufacturers of making it easy for buyers to avoid the city's anti-gun law. Many other police forces also sell their used guns. CBS News reported (August) that the Irving, Texas police department once sold used grenade launchers to a dealer for $3500 each. Entrepreneurship Out of work Japanese electrical contractor Akira Hareruya, 36, went to work on the streets of Tokyo. He invites passersby to don boxing gloves and take swings at him and charges $9 per minute for his service. The terms? He promises to only evade punches, not hit back, and encourages his customers to verbally "relieve their stresses" while punching. Hareruya told the L.A. Times he averages about $200 a night. |
